James C. Burroughs, II made history when he was appointed by Governor Dayton in April 2016 to serve as Chief Inclusion Officer. Burroughs is responsible for leading efforts to increase the percentage of jobs held by people of color and persons with disabilities across state government, and expand economic opportunity for others who are underrepresented within the state’s contracting and procurement.

He’ll discuss what his role entails, how he continues to keep Minnesota at the forefront of bringing about change—and what that means for public relations professionals. After the program, you’ll also receive the option to tour the newly renovated State Capitol building.
